Where and how we store and secure your information
All the information we collect is transferred to, processed and stored in secure data centers in the US. This means that the personal information we collect from you may be transferred to, processed, and stored at a destination located outside of the country where you live, and outside the UK and the European Economic Area (EEA). The data may also be processed by staff and contractors operating outside the US, the UK and the EEA who work for us or for one of our suppliers. Such staff may be engaged in, for example, the fulfillment of your order, the processing of your payment details, responding to customer queries, the provision of support services, or the improvement of our services.
We take all steps reasonably necessary to protect against the unauthorized access of private information at any point during collection, transportation and disposal, and to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy regardless of where your personal information is processed. To ensure adequate protection of your information, we rely on contracts that incorporate the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses when transferring your information outside of the EEA, the UK and countries which are not covered by an adequacy decision. We also carefully select our vendors and business partners and set contractual safeguards to protect your data.
Although our Site is encrypted with SSL technology, the transmission of information via the internet is, unfortunately, not completely secure. We will do our best to protect your personal data; however, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to our Site, and any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorized access.
How long we store your data
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or for as long as needed to provide you with the services. We also retain personal information for as long as necessary to achieve the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, for example to comply with our legal obligations, to protect us in the event of disputes, to enforce our agreements, and to protect our and others’ interests.
The exact duration for which we keep your personal information depends on the type of personal information and why we need it. When determining how long to retain personal information, we consider factors such as the minimum retention period required by law or recommended as best practice, the period during which a claim can be made with respect to an agreement or other matter, whether the personal information has been aggregated or pseudonymized, and other relevant criteria. For example, we keep your email address as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter in case you would like to re-activate your account, while the period for which we keep financial transaction information is dictated by law (seven years). Likewise, when your free trial expires or you cancel your subscription services, we do not immediately delete your personal information but keep it for a reasonable period in case you come back.
You may delete your account by contacting us at privacy@ameniti.com and we will delete the personal information we hold about you (unless we need to retain it for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy).
Please note that in the course of providing the services, we collect and maintain aggregated and anonymized information which we may retain indefinitely.
We have a system of retention periods in place to ensure that your information is only stored whilst it is required for the relevant purposes or to meet legal requirements. Where your information is no longer required, we will ensure it is disposed of in a secure manner. Security logs are retained for 60 days and backups for 30 days.
Your data access, update, portability and deletion rights
You may request details of the personal information which we hold about you. If you would like a copy of the information held on you, please email us at privacy@ameniti.com. Please note that we reserve the right to request additional information from you to verify your identity before we can provide the information to you, or to your authorized agent if you are a California resident making a California request or an EEA resident making a subject access request. We cannot respond to your request or provide you with personal information if we cannot verify your identity or authority to make the request and confirm the personal information relates to you.
For data portability requests, we will provide your personal information in a format that is readily usable and should allow you to transmit the information from one entity to another entity without hindrance.
If you believe that any information we are holding on you is incorrect or incomplete, please email us as soon as possible at the above address. We will promptly correct any information found to be incorrect.
You have the right to request that we delete your personal information, subject to certain exceptions. However, we need certain personal information to provide you the services, and you may no longer be able to access or use the services if you ask us to delete some or all of your personal information.
We endeavor to respond to California requests or subject access requests within thirty (30) days of receipt. If we require more time, we will inform you of the reason and extension period in writing.
When will we contact you?
We will contact you, using the email address or phone number you provided, to answer any inquiries you may have made, deliver the services you have requested, for the performance of a contract we may have with you, or to provide customer or technical support.
We may periodically send you emails about new products and services, or other information which we think you may find interesting, using the email address which you have provided, unless you have told us that you do not wish to be contacted in this way.
If you would like to change any of your preferences relating to the way in which we may use your information for direct marketing, then please update your user preferences or send an email to privacy@ameniti.com.
In the event of a data breach or misuse, we will inform our users of what happened and what we have done to put it right within 30 days.
